Simmel on culture

Georg Simmel: The Growing Tragedy of Culture. Georg Simmel was an early German sociologist that worked on studying the society and the development of the discipline of sociology. He worked on different concepts about social theory and, because of this, his writings continue to inspire. Talking about classical theorists in sociology, people tend to talk mostly about Marx, Durkheim and Weber, leaving Simmel out.

He was born in Vienna and grew up in Austria and England . He was trained as a chemical engineer and worked in research from 1943 to the end of World War II .
