It’s a production fascinated with touch and proximity, and thus one that feels antithetic to this era of distancing and isolation. The American PBS will televise Romeo & Juliet at 21:00 on Friday, 23 April 2021. The film, a bold new adaptation of William Shakespeare ’s classic tragedy, stars Josh O’Connor and Jessie Jessie Buckley (War and Peace, Chernobyl) and Josh O'Connor (The Crown, God's Own Country) star as Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers in a new imagining of Romeo and Juliet that was produced at London's National Theatre and will premiere on PBS in April.
